but seriously; the word in context is ironic since the most stoic figure in the play is, point of fact, a woman -
(apart from Shadow) though there wasn't a specific word i was dwelling on, more the overall, which could apply, maybe (maybe not) and in a number of different ways, to Mal.

As a lust for knowledge, I could see that.

There are lots of poems I read that remind me of people. Poetry seems to be the only thing that can feed my writing.

plenty of ambition in that family too.
lust for knowledge - i can buy that. but also the lust of others; for a world without sin, for a higher rank in the core, for status, for a weapon - any number of things that have brought the damage down on Simon and his sister.
as a family, they have indeed been cut by each others dust.

Oh. I thought that poem was specifically about individual pitfalls and failings, but, yeah, the world will screw you over pretty quickly too.
